Wrexham Bridge

This project involved the repair, widening and reconstruction of the Pont Felin Bridge in Wrexham.

This project was part of a road improvement scheme designed to improve traffic flow, access and safe pedestrian use in the area. The bridge was widened to incorporate a pedestrian footpath to allow safe passage across the bridge. This meant that the arches had to rebuilt and then faced in stone to maintain the appearance of the bridge.

Project Detail

This project also required us to face the bridge on both sides in sandstone to match the original façade. The work was challenging due to working above a river which made access more complicated. However we were able to scaffold the bridge and create paths across the water below. We also had to ensure that the stonework and mortar was in keeping with the heritage of the bridge.

The works were successfully completed and the bridge is now in use.
