We take great pride in helping to maintain and restore the memorials that were erected to commemorate our fallen soldiers. On an annual basis we work for various local authorities to clean and prepare numerous war memorials for Remembrance Day.
We undertake all aspects of work including re-lettering, pointing, indents, bronze restoration and in some cases a full take down and rebuild. The high quality of work we provide gives our clients the confidence for us to work on such important memorials.
Project Detail
We cleaned the stonework using the steam based DOFF System. This system is a steam based stone cleaning method, the steam removes moss, algae, fungi and other biological matter and will also kill off spores. This means there is then no need to use a chemical biocide during the removal process or as a protection against further biological activity.
After cleaning the memorial was back to its original colour and the inscriptions were legible again.
